About the Speaker:

Joseph R. Farag is Assistant Professor of Arabic Literature and Culture at the University of Minnesota. He was previously a postdoctoral fellow at the Forum Transregionale Studien in Berlin, and a Lecturer in Middle Eastern Literary Studies at Queen Mary University of London, where he also earned his PhD. Dr. Farag's research covers the intersection of cultural production, history, and politics in the Arab world with particular focus on the Palestinian context. His book, Politics and Palestinian Literature in Exile: Gender, Aesthetics, and Resistance in the Short Story was recently published by I.B.Tauris.

조지프 R. 파락 교수는 미네소타 대학 아시아언어문학과의 조교수입니다. 그는 베를린의 Forum Transregionale Studien에서박사후연구원으로 있었고, 런던의 퀸 메리 대학에서 중동문학과의 강사로 있었으며, 또한 그곳에서 박사학위를 수여받았습니다. 파락 교수는 아랍권에서의 문화 생산, 역사, 그리고 정치의 교차에 대해, 특히 팔레스타인인들의 맥락에 초점을 맞추어 연구하고 있습니다. 그의 신간인 <망명 가운데의 정치와 팔레스타인 문학 : 단편소설에서의 젠더, 미학, 그리고 저항>은 최근 I.B.Tauris에서 출간되었습니다.
